I have been painting for many years. Whether it's been on furniture, clothing, canvas, wood, or walls and floors in my home, the need to create has always been in my blood. I studied in Florida at Broward Communitiy College and Florida International University, but did not start creating until I took painting lessons as an adult in Ellijay, Georgia. The lessons lasted for seven years.
When my grandchildren were born I started painting Heirloom Growth
Charts, children's roll top desks, "kid size" outdoor furniture, and time out chairs. My children encouraged me to share with other childeren what I had created. Granny Pinkles came into being.
My desire for recycling and thrift store shopping has helped a great deal in the furniture I paint. The finds are always previously owned items that I can transform into someone's treasure.
Moving to the Blue Ridge Mountains after retriement has given me the inspiration to paint the old barns of Appalachia, the beautiful flowers and trees that grow on the hillsides, and the animals that live and thrive in the wilderness.
In the Gallery you will find samples of my work. If you wish to see more or anything specific, please contact me.
